Fixed price, agreed before we start
We give you a fixed price in writing before any work is booked. There is no hourly rate running in the background, no deposit and no surprise charges on the day. If you add extra rooms or items on the day, we will agree any change with you before doing the extra work.
What affects the price of a house clearance?
How much there is
The biggest factor is volume – how many van loads it takes. A tidy two-bedroom bungalow costs much less than a full three-bedroom house with a loft, garage and shed.
What it is
Some items cost more to dispose of properly, such as mattresses, fridges and freezers, upholstered furniture and large amounts of garden or building waste.
Access
Flats without a lift, steep cottage stairs, long walks to the van, narrow lanes and remote farms all add time. Places like Holy Island, where we work around the tide, also need extra planning.
Reusable and resaleable items
Furniture and goods that can be reused or sold can reduce the cost of your clearance. Where contents have resale value, we take this into account in the price.
How to keep the cost down
- Take any items you want to keep, sell or give to family before we arrive
- Let us know about anything valuable so it can be allowed for in the price
- Combine jobs – lofts, garages and gardens are cheaper done in the same visit
- Send clear photos of every room, so we can quote accurately first time
